butasyl is a combination of two non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, both analgesic and antipyretic effect. Sodium salicylate is rapidly metabolized and provides immediate decrease in pain and fever. Phenylbutazone provides a longer anti-inflammatory effect. Indicated in the treatment of acute inflammation, and pyrexia allergic conditions present in mastitis, neumopáticos pains, myocarditis, laminitis, and all forms of arthritis (traumatic, infectious and rheumatoid) , MMA, bursitis.

Indications butasyl

Phenylbutazone has anti-inflammatory properties. Sodium salicylate has analgesic and antipyretic properties, is indicated in the treatment of allergic conditions and acute inflammation and pyrexia in horses and cattle. Butasyl has a rapid onset of action and a long lasting effect.

Composition per ml:

Phenylbutazone 186.1 mg; 50.0 mg sodium salicylate.

Interactions and incompatibilities

Do not administer with other analgesics, corticosteroids, barbiturates, chloramphenicol, sulfonamides,

anticoagulants, hydantoin-type anticonvulsants and hypoglycemic agents.

Indications and target species

Equine: Acute arthritis.

Contraindications of Butasyl

• Do not use in animals with cardiorenal conditions, edema, gastritis or hemoglobinuria.

• Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Side effects

Very rarely digestive disorders ( colic gastritis , diarrhea) may occur ;

depression and anorexia; blood dyscrasias, decreased platelet aggregation (petechiae,

hemorrhages) and phlebopathies, as well as hydrosaline retention (edema). At the first symptom it is advised

Route of administration

Slow intravenous.

Posology

Equine:

Initial dose (adult animal and foals): 4 ml / 100 kg at 12-hour intervals.

Maintenance dose (adult animal and foals): 2 ml / 100 kg at 12-hour intervals.

Duration of treatment: 4 6 days depending on the inflammatory process.

Special precautions of Butasyl

• During the treatment period it is recommended to establish a hypoprotein regime,

reducing the contribution of chlorides since there is a risk of edema formation.

• Do not administer to horses at least eight days before participating in a competition.

Wait time

Do not use in equines whose meat or milk is intended for human consumption.

Conservation mode of Butasyl

Store and transport refrigerated (between 2 and 8 ° C). Protect from direct sunlight.
